They can be divided into two basic categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Large-size specially protected areas (LSPA) \u2013 national parks (NP) and protected landscape areas (PLAs)<\/li>\n<li>Small-size specially protected areas (SSPA) \u2013 national nature reserves (NNR), national nature monuments (NPP), nature reserves (PR) and nature monuments (PP).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>More detailed information about the rules of territorial nature conservation in the Czech Republic can be found on relevant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mzp.cz\/en\/specially_protected_areas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website of the Ministry of the Environment<\/a> or also on relevant <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ochranaprirody.cz\/en\/what-we-do\/territorial-conservation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website of the Nature Conservation Agency of the CR<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After the accession to the European Union, the Czech Republic became involved in the designation of <strong>the Natura 2000 network sites of Community importance<\/strong> in which two types of protected areas are distinguished: Sites of Community Importance and Special Protection Areas.<br \/>\nAn overview of the above-mentioned types of protected areas and more detailed information about them can be found in <a href=\"http:\/\/drusop.nature.cz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the Digital Register of the Central Nature Conservation List<\/a> (= odkaz na str\u00e1nku \u00daSOP) which is only available in Czech language.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_384\" style=\"width: 310px\"
