Representatives of the Global Change Research Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CzechGlobe) and Charles University Environment centre (CUEC) in cooperation with the Czech Ministry of the Environment organized webinars on November 26, 2020, at which they presented to workers of selected institutes and organisations the One Nature project, and especially the concept of ecosystem services (benefits of nature for humans) and how we work with this concept in the project.
At the webinar on the evaluation of ecosystem services in the One Nature project
The webinars followed semi-structured interviews that took place with representatives of key actors in 2020. CzechGlobe and CUEC employees met with representatives of ministries and other state administration bodies, territorial and local authorities, agricultural, fishery and forestry institutions and non-profit organizations, i.e. those who can use the results of ecosystem services evaluation created within the One Nature project.
A large part of the online meeting was devoted to an interactive discussion about the possibilities and ways of using the evaluation of specific ecosystem services in terms of methods, scale or type of used values. During the discussion, many inspiring opinions and suggestions were heard that we will further elaborate in the preparation of the project outputs.
We will also use the experience and information from the webinars to prepare the second round of participatory seminars with other actors, which we plan for April to May 2021. The specific dates and form of the seminars will depend on possible anti-epidemic measures.
