All participants in the monitoring mission of the One Nature Project funded by the European LIFE Programme on the Brník hill
The fourth monitoring mission of the One Nature Project, or the European Integrated LIFE Project for Natura 2000 in the Czech Republic, took place in October 2021. After a one-year break, the monitoring team and representatives of all five partners could also set out for the field part of the mission, namely to the Central Bohemian Highlands (České středohoří), more precisely to the SCIs of Kleneč, Březina, Oblík – Srdov – Brník and Sinutec – Dlouhý kopec. The weather was favourable for the field visit, and so nothing prevented the enlightening and interesting explanations by experts from the NCA, protected landscape area administration and representatives of various land owners (Forests of the Czech Republic, Libčeves municipality).
The management measures coordinator, Tereza Kočárková from the NCA, explains to the excursion participants, including Jan Slíva from NEEMO, how the data for monitoring the area development in relation to the implemented management measures are collected in the Kleneč SCI. In particular, she points out the datalogger, a device that measures the soil temperature and humidity and records changes in these microclimatic conditions over time.
Transfer to the Oblík - Srdov - Brník SCI with the participation of Aleš Kassal, a representative of Libčeves municipality, i.e., the owner of the forest where forest grazing is currently being prepared in cooperation; its course and impact on local forest communities will be monitored and subsequently evaluated within the Project.
